ROCHESTER WEEK 2007
BLESS
ROCHESTER is a strategy to mobilize
Christians in prayer for and evangelism of the Rochester
region. It involves Prayer-Evangelism, talking
to God before you talk to your neighbor. It is meant
to become a “lifestyle for a lifetime.”
THE
PRAYER COVERAGE MAP shows
neighborhoods where Christians are committed to pray blessings
daily for their neighbors and
dedicate their homes as embassies of heaven. It also shows the
sites of churches that were visited by intercessory prayer caravans
focused on blessing the congregations. Furthermore, it shows
strategic places where prayer teams spoke blessings and read
from Ezekiel 47.

OR SCHOOL AS AN EMBASSY OF HEAVEN.
SCHEDULE
OF EVENTS
RATIONALE:
The strategy implements the directive in Luke 10 that Jesus gave
teams to prepare communities for his arrival. He instructed
them to:
- Bless – “Declare peace on homes”
- Fellowship – “Eat and drink” (especially
listen)
- Minister – “Heal the sick” (Respond
to “felt” needs)
- Proclaim – “Tell them, ‘The Kingdom
of God is near you’” (Share that God’s love
and power are near)
This strategy that begins with prayer, fellowship and servant
actions before sharing good news resulted in great victory and
brought Jesus joy (Luke 10:17-21).

HISTORY OF BLESS ROCHESTER
THE COMMITMENT
Blessing Your Neighborhood
- Dedicate your home and heart as an Embassy of Heaven
- Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal tangible and intangible
things in your home and heart that are inappropriate
in representing Christ and obey his promptings
- Make a map of your neighborhood (5 houses on the right,
5 houses on the left 11 across the street; or whatever
configuration is appropriate). List the names you know.
- Bless daily those households by name if possible,
and walk or drive the neighborhood blessing the households
once a week (if possible)
- Fellowship with your neighbors, minister to their
needs and share as the Holy Spirit gives you opportunity
and leading
- Identify your home as
an embassy of heaven

Blessing Your Workplace
- Bless your place of work
- Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal tangible and intangible
things at your work that hinder God’s blessing
of its workers and mission, and obey his promptings
- Daily bless the workers, the process of work and the
products
- Communicate with others who are blessing their workplace
for support, encouragement and growth opportunities
