About TEAM Rochester

Who or What is... TEAM Rochester

That is a good question!! It is a similar one being asked by other churches and ministry organizations here in Rochester these days. Part of that is because it is an organization that represents a variety of evangelical ministries in our community. Another reason may be that it is a completely volunteer run ministry effort and has been since it was started in the early 1990's.

The original name of this ministry was the Southeastern Minnesota Evangelistic Association. In 2004, it was re-named TEAM Rochester, which stands for... Together Evangelizing and Mobilizing the Rochester area. TEAM Rochester is a Christian non-profit organization that serves to effectively utilize the resources available in our community through the cooperateive and combined efforts of its evangelical churches and various ministry organizations.

The vision of TEAM Rochester is to partner together as believers and churches in the Rochester region for the purpose of mobilizing prayer, evangelizing the lost, and blessing the poor. The goal of this cooperative ministry effor is spirtual transformation, kingdom impact, and Christian unity.

There are several ongoing ministries already impacting our community that have been established by or endorsed through TEAM Rochester. The monthly food distribution program on the fourth Saturday of each month is known as In His Name. TEAM actively helped Calvary Evangelical Free Church partner with other churches here in Rochester to develop CareFest, and the year-round opportunities that are now provided through CareNet. Bless Rochester, 24/7 Community Prayer, and the Gathering are also outreach opportunities organized by this area-wide ministry.

In December 2008, TEAM Rochester stepped out in faith and hired Rev. Dave Genberg as its Ministry of Community Development. Dave will be directing the ministry operations of TEAM Rochester serving to promote and coordinate activities, recruit partners and participants, while actively raising support and funds for these expanding efforts, needs, and concerns.

This is TEAM Rochester. It is a ministry to our community. Through its unique efforts we hope to provide every resident, worker, and visitor in Rochester with an opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel message, God's Good News. It is as we team together... we are seeking to accomplish this great Kingdom task.
